Finally got round to playing the FEAR 2: Reborn DLC which I've had for a long time, but not gotten round to playing. It got off to an alright start, but I finished it within an hour or two - totally disappointed. Alma only made a couple of tiny appearances and neither were distinctly scary, and after a few firefights it was pretty much over. It's been a while since I played the main game, so the connection with the main story felt a little loose. It would have been alright if it had been a really short unlockable on the disc, but for paid DLC I felt a bit ripped off, really.

FEAR 2 is awesome, Reborn however was a disappointment.

Ouch... I never played F.E.A.R, it's like Doom, yet scarier. Well, hope they make a F.E.A.R. 3.
Yeah, I think F.E.A.R. 3 is in the works but who knows how long till it actually comes out. F.E.A.R. 2 had good gameplay with mild scares the whole time, while the first felt as though it had some rather repetitive gameplay but shone with the odd Alma sections which were really quite creepy (if not more so than the second game)
Naw Blair. The scare tactics are the biggest difference among DOOM and Fear. In DOOM its dark so you can't see anything and then something random pops out around the corner and gets in your face startling you. In fear they use psychological mind tactics in order to try to scare you.
I've been playing the expansion packs for the first F.E.A.R. lately, and the gameplay feels much more varied than the original. I've grown very weary of the G2A2. Is there pretty much one gun you will end up using throughout F.E.A.R.2 and Reborn?
@Epic64: Not really that dark in Doom. It's actually quite fun. If only they would make a Doom 4.
@BlairTheGod sure you got the right game? In doom 3 i recall there being only a LIMITED amount of flashlight before it turns off and has to recharge and also there were RED monsters from hell and it was PITCH black. Red black? satanic colours? they did that on purpose : O . Don't get me wrong i still found it fun though :P
@timyadeadhomie I can't say I remembered which gun I used in the main F.E.A.R. 2 campaign but I don't remember ever feeling as though things were tedious - I did however find the first game more repetitive as a whole with its fairly bland concrete areas. F.E.A.R. 2 had a lot of great sights and interesting scares, I never really got bored.
I played the original Xbox version of Doom 3. There was red lights, and creatures from hell, but it wasn't TOTALLY dark. Sure, some creatures scared me, but the monster that crawled on all fours was easy to see because his eyes glowed.
